Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am the Children’s Ministries Director here at Rose Hill. I am
 responsible for the overall ministry to children ages birth through 5th grade. I have the
 privilege of working with great kids who energize me and remind me over and over again
 of the importance of learning about the grace and faithfulness of God at an early age. I also
 have the privilege of working with a bunch of talented and committed volunteers.

I grew up in a Christian home and chose to follow Christ when I was very young. For as
 long as I can remember, I have understood that it is through him that this world and my life
 have purpose and hope. It is also through him that I can be transformed into someone who
 is selfless and loving, which is an ongoing process.

My husband Paul and I met at Bethel College through some mutual friends. Since college, I
 taught Spanish at a local high school and middle school, and Paul started the 5-year
 process of getting his PhD in Chemistry at the U of M. In the fall of 2006 I went back to
 school full time at Bethel Seminary to get my Masters of Christian Education, a program
 that fits me like a glove!

Paul and I both like to do projects. Any given night at our house you could find the living
 room full of electronic parts, yarn, watercolor paints, tools, drywall, books, and our dueling
 laptops. I especially enjoy reading, knitting, shopping with my sisters and mom (especially
 when my 1 year old nephew is along!), painting, going for walks with friends, and drinking
 coffee. Paul has also turned me into a regular runner, though my main motivation is to
 spend time with him!
